Buckwheat Sprouting Berries

Buckwheat is an ancient superfood originating in Asia. In spite of its name, it's not a wheat at all! It's closely related to rhubarb and sorel, and contains all amino acids making it a high protein super food. Buckwheat is commonly used as a gluten free alternative in baking and lends itself well to flatbreads, pancakes, and pasta. Our buckwheat is cleaned and sold with its hull intact so that it may be sprouted, dried and milled into flour. Please note that additional sifting will be required in order to remove the hulls after sprouting. This can be accomplished with a simple hand flour sifter.
